About Us

Rumor (formerly Generation Gap) is a local cover band on the Central Coast, delivering Classic and Contemporary soft rock, blues, and pop dance hits. Formed 8 years ago, Rumor has performed at a wide range of venues and festivals including the California Mid-State Fair, San Luis Obispo Beerfest,  Lake Nacimiento, Black Lake and the Monarch Dunes Summer Concert Series, to name a few.  They are also favorites at the Avila Beach Resort, Cal Coast Brewery and The Pour House in Paso! This versatile group includes double guitar leads, keyboards, a synthesizer saxophone, and new power female vocalist Dani Cole, whose unique powerful vocal style brings the band into the 21st Century!

Dani's contemporary nuanced renditions of classics such as Janis Joplin's Piece Of My Heart and Aretha Franklin's Chain of Fools imparts a fresh cool vibe while paying homage to the originals. Bass player Ryan Morris has his own unique energy and musicality. A former bluegrass fiddler, he is a multi-instrumentalist who studied Sound Engineering at Cal Poly. He helms his own live sound production company, allowing him to shape the sound of the band while anchoring the rhythm section. Songs run the gamut from the Eagles' Hotel California and Janice Joplin's Piece Of My Heart to Crazy by Gnarls Barkley and Feel It Still by Portugal the Man.

This band lends a unique classic bluesy sound to classic rock hits, and gives modern pop songs a refreshing live twist.
